Where do I find the time?

Well...there are 24 hours in a day, which is 168 hours in a week, which equals 720 hours a month and that totals 8,760 hours in a year!  In order to use all that time wisely we must PLAN.  Planning is the best way to get all our tasks done in a day.  So...have you thought about:

  1. Many companies give their employees time to volunteer during the workday.  Ask about policies at your work

  2. Combine family time with volunteering.  Volunteering is a great way to spend valuable time with your family while passing your values on to your children.

  3. PLAN.  Make a specific

volunteer opportunity a weekly, monthly or even a yearly tradition (example- Day of Caring)

  4. Make a list of volunteer opportunities that do not require a commitment.  When that meeting gets cancelled at the last minute...you'll have a new appointment.

  5. Use spring cleaning as an opportunity to donate clothing and household items in good condition to charity.

  6. PLAN to volunteer on a holiday or when there is no school (example- serving at a soup kitchen on Thanksgiving).

  7. Try a volunteering vacation.

  8. Join a social group that places an emphasizes on volunteering.  You'll meet new people, network and give back all at the same time.
